Dutch Display Cabinet – Louis XV Style in Mahogany, Second Half of the 19th Century
A superb Dutch Louis XV-style display cabinet in solid mahogany, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The lower section features an elegant bombé front resting on lion paw feet, while the upper glazed section is framed by fine mouldings and topped with an ornately carved pediment with vegetal motifs.
The craftsmanship demonstrates refined cabinetmaking skill, harmonising soft Rococo curves with Dutch structural solidity. The warm mahogany tones are enhanced by a rich hand-polished shellac finish, which brings depth and luminosity to the surface.
This piece has been fully restored and polished by hand, preserving its authenticity while renewing its lustre. A magnificent statement of 19th-century European craftsmanship — ideal for showcasing porcelain, books, or decorative art.
